Bored Yet! So we are now feeling the results of the Phillies playoff run and have nothing to watch. Remember years before in October we got use to the Sunday football, and at least two hockey games a week. Now since the Phillies dominated October, here in November we are lossing our minds. With the Flyers having four days off, and the Eagles sucking we have nothing else to talk about. Who would have thought that the Eagles not knowing if there is a tie or not still be in the news? Sadly it is and I can't stand it. Just hang in there for two more days and FLyers play again on Friday. We will get through this.

And we are heading into a tie?
Now I have seen a tie football game before but I have never seen it end in a tie. I guess when the worst goes against the worst you get a really weird result. Sadly enough the Eagles have not lost but didn’t win another game. Today’s game to me signifies everything that is wrong with this team. When you can not beat a team that has the worst record in the NFL and you are stuck just sitting on the sidelines asking yourselves what the hell is going on. The Eagles just simply didn’t come out playing today, no heart, and nor confidence.
Goofs
Donovan McNabb
Andy Reid
Jeffrey Lurie
Pros
None that I can see.
Goofs: McNabb has been the quarterback of this team since I was in high school and I think its time to realize that he is not a championship quarterback. McNabb only can get us to the playoffs and that’s it. He is a professional choke artist and simply enough doesn’t know how to keep down his own lunch when in stressful situation. McNabb throws us due to stress; I throw up every time I see him play. Andy Reid has the same problem to stuck in on speed and gear that we can’t make it any further. It is sad that we continue to see the fat ass with his menu on the sidelines not keeping an eye on the clock but rather eye on the food stands. Get rid of them both and you will get a championship. As for management the failure is all Mr. Lurie the chairman of the Eagles Organization. He has a lot of power and control in what happens to these people and does nothing. Time to leave your precious sky box and join the fans of this city or be forcible removed.
Sadly this season seems to be slipping farther and farther away with playoff spot in sight. On the Eagles website a poll that 8,000 people already voted on overwhelmingly say this team needs to be shaken up. So let’s go Flyers and put this crazy season of Eagles behind us. By the way really fan on Philly isn’t wearing green, they are still wearing RED.

And the Gold keeps on coming plus Silver.
First up is the Golden Glove Award:
This award is determined solely on defensive play throughout the year. Fielding percentages assist, and innings are all taken into account. This years OF recipient is our very own Shane Victorino, and this years shortstops recipient is now a two time recipient Jimmy Rollins. Throughout the season it was these two men that played good consistency baseball which lead this team in getting a championship.
Jimmy Rollins had a fielding percentage of .988, 393 assists, 71 double plays, 7 errors and 193 put outs.
Shane Victorino had a fielding percentage of .994, 7 assists, 2 double plays, 2 errors and 328 put outs.
This award is determined by the slugging percentage, homeruns, and extra base hits someone gets throughout the entire year. Also runs batted in, and runs scored are also involved in eh decision. This years Sliver Slugger Second Baseman Award goes to our very own Chase Utley. Chase Utley had a great year at the plate and dominated all types of pitching with his offensive power and brunt strength.
Chase Utley had a slugging percentage of .583, 177 hits, 113 runs, 104 RBIs, .380 base percentage, 78 extra base hits, and 33 homeruns.

Time Out!
With the Eagle season now in doubt the Flyers are the only team that can carry Philadelphia into another championship. Have you stopped laughing yet? Ok before you pee yourself. The Flyers just seem not to care or sadly admit that they SUCK. NHL hasn’t been the same since the lockout and it looks like hockey is being replaced faster then ever before. When I was a kid you always heard about the Flyers and them being a contender. Even in 1993 the Phillies only gained a little respect and then quickly lost it when they lost. Has the city of Philadelphia turned entirely red and will soon move very far away from the Green and Orange? I hope so because this is just a shame. Tonight’s game against the Penguins was good, but again a lost. A lost in our own division will be very hard to overcome in March when the Flyers are trying to make it to the post season. On a sad note this seems to be an ongoing trend for the Philadelphia and I was hoping the Phillies shattered it all together but we are returning to this complete downward spiral. Flyers and Eagles SUCK!

It gets not better then Philly!
It will be a parade that we will never forget. Either it was the crowded streets, the emotion from the stadium, or the words used by the Philly Players that will always stand out. Never before have I seen such emotion, and relief in the face of so many people. I am proud to be a Philadelphia fan today and rightfully so. Already talks about free agents and who is expected to win next year has taken over the radio waves. But for Philly they had yesterday to enjoy the moment, and it was a moment that will never be short lived.
The Flyers won their last game of the month of October and salvaging the month with a better win/loss record. The hero from that game was that of Jeff Carter who seems to be on fire lately. Flyers are in a better place now then they were at the start of this season. On Sunday the Flyers will take on the Oilers in their first game of the month of November. This is a team that is exactly tied with the same amount of points as both teams look for an edge. Hopefully the Flyers take some luck from the Phillies and come up big against the Oilers.
The Eagles are west tomorrow taking on Seattle where ever win is important. Dallas will be taking on the Giants a game which many fans hope both teams lose, but really hoping Dallas actually wins it. Many fans are calling on the Eagles to win a championship as the pressure shifts towards Seattle as Eagles have all eyes on them. Can the Eagles continue their road to the postseason and have some Philly magic also. Only time will tell. Until then it’s going to be a great Sunday, so enjoy Philly.

PHINALLY!
Every Phillies fan from the past and present can finally say we are the champions. I remember game 1 in my dorm room with my rally rag from the year before and how we cheered them on throughout everything, only to be rewarded with the greatest prize in baseball. Tonight is a night where I saw grown men cry and Philadelphia take to the streets. Tonight is a night where I saw all those Phillies fans that came before us take their final bow and say “it is your time.” From the call from Harry Kalas to the fireworks the city of champions has returned.
Pros
World Series Champions the Philadelphia Phillies
American League Champions Tampa Bay Rays
Goofs
Priceless
Pros: For the Rays this is a season where they can build a dynasty off of, and look toward the future. This is a team none for its tough attitude and its fighting spirit, and that kind of play will one day win them the greatest championship in baseball but not tonight. The Rays brought everything they had to the table but unfornatntley wasn’t enough. Philadelphia Phillies are the World Champions and that my friend explains it all. Either it was the Jamie Moyer show dominating this season on the mound, or the big come back in NY when the Phillies stumped the Mets, or when it was Shane Victorino hitting a grand slam off of CC Sabathia I don’t know exactly what it was but here they are champions of baseball.
Goofs: Good baseball does not have any goofs!
The Phillies this season took us away from the real world. Putting all are worries to the side and cheering for a victory that many feel it was personal. No matter what you’re economic problems are, or the job you have that you may hate, tonight all are negativity all our problems didn’t matter for two hours. Tonight there was more things that united us, rather then divided us. A city that finally has come home and a championship that will forever be bidding memory. My friends I have seen many games, and I have always wanted to be part of the good old days my father talks about, finally I am. Thank You Phillies!

3 1/2
With just 3 1/2 innings left and an all tied up game, the Phillies could become World Series Champions tonight. For everyone who is going to the game, due exactly what you did before and if thier is anyone new going don't. The Phillies need to break the curse of our city and finaly capture a championshp. At least the celebration will come early tonight rather then later if the Phillies win. Who will be a world series hero and either lead thier team to the title or fight for another day. It happens tonight!

Flyers stun Atlanta
It wasn’t a stone cold stunner but it was sure enough a scoring stunner as the Flyers just ran over the Thrashers 7-0 in the game tonight. With a winning combination the Flyers gets six of their goals tonight from just three different people. And with Nittymaki it net all he needed tonight was a single goal, since he would be lights out earning himself a 10-0 record against Atlanta and his first shutout of the season. Flyers are flying high with three straight wins and hopefully trying to salvage an October nightmare.
Pros
Joffrey Lupul
Mike Knuble
Simon Gagne
Antero Niittymaki
Goofs
Iilya Kovalchuck
Garnet Exelby
Thrashers Fans
Thrashers Defense
Pros: Joffrey Lupul got the scoring going with a first period goal that would be the only one needed to win but still went on to score a second one. Lupul is filling in well for the lost of Briere that many of us are not missing. Knuble is one of the luckiest guys out there who just seems to be in the rite place at the rite time. Knuble scoring two goals off his skate, with a non kicking motion, that helped him gain some points tonight. Simon Gagne scoring a shorthanded goal and also getting a second goal of the night later which lead the Flyers in their dominant night. Antero Niittymaki just continues to show us why he is a great goaltender. Stopping all 24 shots faced and keeping the Flyers alive in the game with big saves all lead him into the Pro category.
Goofs: Kovalchuck with a bonehead play caused his team a 4 minute major penalty that lead to the Flyers scoring twice and pretty much putting the game away. Bone head plays seem to be the make and break of each game for the Thrashers, and should think of a new strategy to win. Exelby tried to get the momentum back into the Atlanta side when trying to fight Cote but quickly fell to the ice and failed terribly to get anyone motivated. Tonight’s game had about 13,000 people and you couldn’t hear the crowd at all. A non factor and when you are at home you need the crowd to play some factor in the game. With all the scoring tonight and absolute slaughter in stopping shots the defense of the Thrashers get a big goof. Can’t blame the goaltender for everything.
Now the Flyers get set to take on the New York Islanders in a rivalry game on Thursday. I am looking forward to see if the Flyers can try to make October a rebound month.

Is the curse alive!
Every Phillys fans must be thinking is this the curse of Penn, and will it cost us everything. At the start of the game the Phillies look like they were in control, but poor fielding, and maybe just the way it is type of year the Phillies could lose this. If we head back to Tampa I believe that the Phillies would lose this. SO lets hope the rain lets up a little and allows them to play the rest tonight. DAMN IT.
Fingers Crossed, Prayers Said, Now Play Ball
Tonight the Phillies get a change to win their second world championship, and finally lifting the curse that has been over Philadelphia in past 20 some years. The World Series has always been known for making someone famous, either is a good way or bad. History has a funny way of expressing it self, and at times hard to predict. Many fans hope that tonight is the night where dreams become a reality and we can all together overcome all the obstacles in our life. For 9 innings no matter what we are going through or the troubles we are in, for those innings we will watch holding our breath at times, and just waiting for a moment to scream for victory. Cole Hamels the ace of the staff is pitching, and if he remains hot the Phillies could walk away with the win tonight. And he opponent Kazmir who is game 1 was not that bad, could send this game back to Florida with some hopes in sight. Who will be the hero? Who will be made famous tonight?

Into the Night!
With the hype building, the crowd refusing to yield, and destiny knocking, the Phillies are just one game away from being the World Champions of Baseball. One game away from utter greatness, and one game away from being the absolute best in the MLB. The stadium is fired up, the bats are alive, and the defense is up. Now fate lies in the ace of the staff with just one more win left to earn.
Pros
Joe Blanton
Jimmy Rollins
Goofs
Akinori Iwamura
Evan Longoria
Pros: Joe Blanton just was a nasty pitcher tonight, and followed his superb pitching also heroic bat. Seems what ever Bret Myers was eating, Blanton must be eating now hitting a homerun in the game. I never thought that Blanton would be leading us through the World Series, nor be pitching as well as he has the past three post season games. Jimmy Rollins got his game started and hopefully it all pours into tomorrow night.
Goofs: Iwamura was hittles, and caused of few errors that the Phiillies jumped all over. Longoria seems not to be here yet, or rather not understanding what is going on. He seems like he is lost and he is looking oddly sick. I still have a fear that he will break out and be the dominating force he could be.
With just one win away the Phillies and the city of Philadelphia are crossing their fingers, and saying their prayers tonight for a win tomorrow night. It will be a rematch from game 1, and hopefully with the same result. Phillies look to remain undefeated at home, and are looking to become World Series Champions. ONE WIN AWAY!

A Win for Everybody.
It the most tight divsion in the entire NFl, the Eagles flew one over the Falcons to pick up thier fifths win of the season. Now either it was the loud crowd or the city just being very focused rite now, that lead to this big win for the Eagles, I don't know. A win is a win and I will take it in anyway I can. Since the game was a close one I couldn't really pull out pros and goofs of the game. But I have decided to do so anyway.
Pros
Brian Westbrook
Phillies
Matt Ryan
Goofs
Falcons Head Coach
Pros: Westbrook just took control of the destiny with his running game, and complete well rounded play. Westbrook had over a hundred yards today, and two touchdowns. More of that producation the Eagles are looking good for the long run. Phillies get a pro title because they have sparked the city and was probably why the Eagles fans just dominated the air ways today. Matt Ryan the QB of the Falcons was impressive and I will look into what happens with this young player down the road.
Goofs: Falcons Head Coach simply ran out of time outs, and couldn't challenge a play that would've most likely been overturned. Football is a game of inches and strategy all in which the Eagles dominated the hot headed coach of the Flacons.
Hopefully the Eagles can gain some ground next week as they head West to battle Seatle. Hopefully this becomes a good day with just one more win to have with the Phillies.

Coming Soon!
After sitting back, and thinking about it, I have decided to blob about the Eagles as well as the rest of my favorite Philadelphia teams. So after today's game and after the rest of the league plays I will give you my thoughts and my true fan feelings about the game. Also new to the blog is the dails updates of the Phillies, Flyers, and now Eagles. SO enjoy that, that is for you.
101
Maybe it was the rain or just a good day entirely for the city of Philadelphia. For many of us hopefully Sunday ends up being the day in which we will never forget. Tonight the Phillies earned a 2-1 lead in the World Series, and a shot at control of what happens next. I don’t know exactly what is in store for this team or what will later tonight bring, but I do know that the Phillies never backed down. Even with more blown calls from the umpires the Phillies we able to take advantage of a “real” baseball field.
Pros
Carlos Ruiz
Jamie Moyer
Ryan Howard
Joe Madon
Goofs
Umpires
Evan Longoria
Pros: Carlos Ruiz has been the only consistent hitter the Phillies have had thus far throughout the entire World Series. Of course driving in the go ahead run in the second, and scoring in the winning run earns him two thumbs up and a pro spot. Jamie Moyer finally had a good outing and shouldn’t be upset with the end result. If the call was not blown I believe that Jamie would have walked away with the win and three runs to spare. Ryan Howard may be out of his funk and how great would it be if the Phillies got him rolling again. Domination would not even come to mind if Ryan Howard starts hitting them out of the park. Joe Madon earns a lot of respect from me by putting five players in the infield and two players in the outfield. Very gutsy act that probably was going to work but poor defense stopped that from happening.
Goofs: The Umpires continue to blow calls left and right. I wonder when the MLB will address this situation before it’s too late. I am truly disgusted with the umpiring that has occurred this series. Evan Longoria remains a hitting giant but a sleeping one. Phillies must be happy that we haven’t seen him get turn on yet. Let’s hope for the next two games he does not.
Now for the Phillies a win tonight could but them only one win away from being World Champions. The view from up here is not that bad, and I am praying that it last a little bit longer. Take one game at a time, and remember that there is still a lot of baseball to be played.

Not One but Two!
At the start of yesterday’s game less then 24hours ago the Flyers were still looking for win number one. Well a whole 24 hours later they have two wins, a lot better then just the one. After the smoked was cleared the Flyers finally got on the board and seem to put the last two weeks behind them, and hopefully never to be repeated. After a scoring feast last night, to a showdown of goaltending the Flyers seem to have improved in all areas.
Pros
Jeff Carter
Mike Richards
Scot Hartnell
Joffrey Lupul
Dainius Zubrus
Goofs
Martin Brodeur
Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond
Ryan Cote
Daniel Briere
Pros: Jeff Carter is leading this team with scoring goals and just being an offensive beast out there. Jeff Carter has dominated the ice for the last three games, and has been rewarded with already 5 goals on the year and looking for more. Mike Richards is proving why he is the captain with his great leadership, getting 4 assists last night, and just shows the NHL why he is a great leader. Scot Hartnell has stepped it up and looking like he could be a big goal scorer for the entire season. Lupul seems to be on a tear also, just getting involved in every play and showing off his skill. Zubrus has always played his best game against his former team, and earns his respect by me.
Goofs: Brodeur just doesn’t look like the goalie that many of us know, and I think it might be time for retirement. You hear all the time that goaltenders and regular players stay around to long. It happens in every sport some are not ready to let go. For Brodeur it’s not looking like an all-star season for him. Leblond was the idiot that made a very harmful check to Cote in last night’s game. I bone head play that lead to a Flyers goal is uncalled for. Ryan Cote seems to be losing the fights of lately and earned himself a goof not because he lost just that he should stop fighting before he really hurts his eyes. And Daniel Briere who will be out for a few weeks earns a goof title since the Flyers are doing well without him. I wish he the best of luck in his surgery and don’t hurry back.
For the city of Philadelphia we are just looking for one more win tonight for our city as the Phillies take on the Rays in Game 3.

Phuck!
A Wesrthless night for the Phillies. I don’t understand it, and I guess since I never played professional ball but when you are the best in the National League how is it that you don’t even know how to play small ball. I am completely disgusted with the way the Phillies played tonight, rather didn’t play. I don’t fucking know, but I do know that the Phillies are probably going to lose this thing unless they start playing. There were too many goofs of the night, and I decided not to mention the pros so go cry if you are looking for them.
Goofs
Philadelphia Phillies
Goofs: Philadelphia Phillies are a given after a performance tonight, and it seems to me they didn’t want it. Either it was no offense or simple horrible defense none the less the Phillies fucking sucked tonight. I hate to curse but I feel I have to; it is the best way for me to express my feelings for this team rite now. Lets start with the starter Bret I suck Myers. Myers seems not to know how to pitch well yet, and since his return to the majors the luck is the only thing that got him through it. Now onto the Jimmy I can’t hit Rollins who simply hasn’t done anything this series. Werth had the most running, fielding and baseball errors of the game. I hope not to see Werth batting second for the rest of the series. Chase Utley well can’t really blame too much on him, but couldn’t get it done with people in scoring position. Ryan Howard whose only hits came with no one on and then later as the game progressed did nothing. Pat Burrell again nothing to show for his effort, and maybe nothing to show for his years with the Phillies as he becomes a weak link. Victorino showed some heart, but again didn’t execute with people in scoring position. Dobbs as the DH seems to be the biggest mistake of the night, since everyone knows the Stairs would have at least given us something more then what Dobbs gave us. Feliz played well last night, and tonight was just a horrific batting and I am wondering if we need him next year, I think not. Ruiz is the only person who I believe played a good game, except for the error in the game but it lead to nothing. I never thought I would see Bruntlet get a pitch hit for Dobbs and every more surprised to see him hit a homerun. At the start of the year I felt Bruntlet was a disappointment but hey he seams to be the only one who wanted to win game 2.
If the Phillies don’t start taking this serious I pray that every fan boos them for the lack of heart and effort. So my advice to Charlie Manuel is play the players that deserve to play and who will win, this is not a time to stick with what you feel is good for the players.
Rust?
Game 1 goes to the Phillies. Rust, I don’t think so. The Phillies came out of the gate wanting to send a message to the Rays, that they are not a typical national league team. The game started exactly the way many of us needed it to, with a two run homerun by Utley. Cole Hamels started one of the most important games of his life, and pitched a very good game.
Pros
Cole Hamels
Pedro Feliz
Akinori Iwamura
Rays Bullpen
Goofs
Ryan Howard
Shane Victorino
B.J. Upton
Willy Aybar
Pros: Cole Hamels was dominating again, and has forced at least a game 5 with him pitching at home. The World Series you need to take game by game, but Hamels has at least calmed the nerves of the Phillies fan. Pedro Feliz proved me wrong by his strong defense and actually decent at bats tonight. Feliz has proven to me that he deserves to be the starting third baseman for the World Series. Iwamura was a great spark plug for the Rays. Hitting 3-3 against Hamels, and drove in a run, long run pain in the a%# for the Phillies. The Rays Bullpen has nothing to be ashamed about tonight, and I am sure they will sleep fine after their performance in game 1. The bullpen just dominated the Phillies batters, and put them all in a funk.
Goofs: Ryan Howard seems to have disappeared this postseason, and if we are going to win the World Series he is going to be needed. Ryan Howard strained too many men on the bases, and defense looked a little rocky. Shane Victorino almost cost us the victory tonight with his running ability, almost getting picked of at second, and running with a pop out in 3rd. Many Phillies fan were shaking their heads after that play. Upton was hyped up to be the most feared hitter in the Series, but Hamels dealt with him by getting him to ground out in two double plays. Double plays are rally killers, and Hamels was able to get Upton to do it twice. Aybar the DH for the Rays has a horrific game, and I am fearful of him getting out of his slump.
The Phillies take game one, now its onto game 2 where Bret Myers will have to do it with his pitching, and has to put down the bat since pitchers don’t bat in the American league. Game 2 Tomorrow Night!

Shark Bait
Once again the Flyers lose, but on a good note the Flyers did get one point out of it. So depending on the rest of the NHL games tonight, this will tell us if the Flyers are still in last. Again the Flyers seem not to know how to play in the shoot out, and seem to have a lack of energy in the game. The Flyers lead only once in this game, which ended up being a scoring fest and poor goaltending. A lot of fingers are getting pointed in multiple directions and it would be very hard to determine whose fought this is. Maybe it is turning out to be a fact. The Flyers may not be that good, and are a team that just got luck last year. It has happen before, luck dominating sports, and then the rock bottom. For the Flyers looking for win number 1 could last the entire mouth of October. Maybe it was the training at west point, or the hockey gods angry with the tearing down of the spectrum, or was it Sarah Palin dropping the first puck. WHO KNOWS.
Pros
Joffrey Lupul
Jeff Carter
Patrick Marleau
Joe Pavelski
Goofs
Flyers Goaltending
Special Teams (Record amount of Goofs)
Evgeni Nabokov
Pros: Joffrey Lupul showed great patience and gave the Flyers some hope in the game. Lupul has been looking for his first goal of the season, now he had two tonight. Hopefully this gets him going, and it does remove him from our goofs list from last week. Jeff Carter seems to be the most well rounded player that we have. Two shorthanded goals this year, and physical play has all improved. Looks like Jeff Carter put in some effort this offseason to get better. Patrick Marleau seems just to in the rite place and the rite time. Scoring two goals tonight, he continues to be the Flyers killer for the Sharks. Joe Pavelski scoring the winning goal in the overtime, and basically dominating the Flyers in the offensive zone earns a pros title for the night.
Goofs: Flyers goaltending seems to have a very large question mark over it, and for many fans are confused in who is actually the starting goaltender for this club. Nittymaki I believe has earned it and should have stayed into the game. Stevens seems to be goaltending by committee rather then picking a steady starter. Special teams remains a big disaster for the Flyers, and for them to turn this season around have to improve in that area. The goaltender of the Sharks Nabokov I believe is not that great, and is very beatable. But the Flyers failed to execute on the win, and once again have been defeated.
Flyers will next take on the New Jersey Devils, a team in which we need to be prepared for. Flyers seem to look for that first win, and look for it in all the wrong places.

Rematch, hopefully with different results
I feel like I am being repetitive and saying that “tonight the flyers are looking for win number 1,” but they still are. If you asked anyone, no one would think that the flyers would have started their season like this. Flyers only have two points which ties the leagues lowest number of point a team has earned thus far. Many people believe that the Flyers will have a break out moment and start to run with it. Hopefully that is sooner then later. I will be watching some of the game tonight due to the fact that the Phillies are playing, and I follow current champions first. I will however watch the Flyers on replay and will give you the goofs and pros of the game. I wonder if we shall see any changes in the Flyers tonight, or change in atmosphere during the game? Who knows, I know that I will still be cheering them on from afar.
Phillies Vs. Rays Tonight
The pitching rotation is picked, the practice is over, and it’s now on to the Fall Classic Game 1. The Phillies will be taking on the Rays, a team that many are calling a miracle team. But will the Phillies trump over this team, who is looking for their first World Series championship, or will the Phillies reclaim the world championship? There are many scenarios that all of us are looking at. No one can tell what will happen till game time. Throughout all the statistics and past games, get a clean sheet because tonight it will be a whole new season. The Phillies will keep their rotation from before as the Rays trying to out pitch the Phillies staff. Cole Hamels and Scott Kazmir will be leading their teams in game 1; we shall see who the hero will be of this series. Lets cross our fingers and lets get ready for some baseball tonight. LET’S GO PHILLIES.

Phillies Vs. ? and Flyers fall short
The Phillies are staying losse as they prepare to take on either the Rays or Boston this upcoming Wednesday. I personaly don't know who would we be better off to face but I do know that it will be a great series whoever makes it. The Phillies will be sticking with their postseason starting pitcher rotation. Hamels will be pitching game 1 versus whoever. "If it's not broke why fix it." Is the comment that Charlie Manuel gave when asked if he was going to start anyone new or change up the rotation. Overall the Phillies are still fealing good, and I hope that rust is not building on our great team.
As the Phillies hope to conclude a great season with a championship ring, the Flyers seem not to be ready for thier season to being. With the first full week of the 08-09 season finish the Flyers are still looking for thier first win, and are dead last in the enitre NHL. For many of us we would have never expected this to happen to a team that came very close of going to the stanley cup finals, I don't know what they have to do but they need to do something. We don't want another season in which the Flyers have to rebuilt everything at the cost of the fans. Last nights game had alot of great moments for the Flyers but end results was one in which the Flyers are settling for lately, a lost. Briere finaly got the scoring going but wasn't good enought to hang on. Nittymaki was great in net but poor defense and refs calling everything on the Flyers didn't help Nittys causes. Flyers will have a shot at thier first win Wednesday but I will be watching the Phillies sorry Flyers.

A Date with Destiny!
My friends and dear Phillies fans tonight the Philadelphia Phillies are the best in the National League and are heading to the World Series. The curtain has come down on the season of LA now its time for the ultimate dance at the Fall Classic. The feeling over seems to be ongoing, seeing grown men cry and a city just explode with excitement when the Phillies clinched their spot in history. And it was extremely fitting to hear that Cole Hamels in the MVP of the series after pitching a great game and playoffs thus far. It wouldn’t be fair to point out the goofs and pros of the game so I decided to sum up the entire series goofs and pros.
Series Pros
Philadelphia Phillies
Manny Ramirez
Cole Hamels
Charlie Manuel
Series Goofs
LA Dodgers
Russell Martin
Rafael Furcal
Pros: The Philadelphia Phillies for just dominating the Dodgers and just playing every inning with great heart and true high spirits. And of course because the Philadelphia Phillies are the National League Champions are some of the reasons why they are pros of the series. Manny Ramirez seemed to be the only player who wanted to play and did play well for the Dodgers. It seems that the rest of the team just didn’t want the championship. Cole Hamels has pitched great the entire postseason, and has earned the MVP award of the series. Cole Hamels I am looking forward seeing in the World Series atmosphere. Of course a great team can’t be great without a great manager like Charlie Manuel. Charlie has been through a roller coaster of feelings and has done a lot for this city. I personally am overwhelmed with joy for Manuel because he led this team two years in a row to the postseason and now to the World Series.
Goofs: LA Dodgers seemed not to play well as a team, either it was their offense or defense, nothing seemed to go well. I guess it was luck that the Dodgers had in game 3 and in their series against the clubs. I personally hope they enjoy golf and good luck to them. Russell Martin is nothing, did nothing, and caused nothing for the Dodgers this series. He ran his mouth and didn’t follow it up with his bat or defense. Hate to be mean but Martin got the ass kicking that he needed. And of course Furcal who helped us in game 1 and game 5 with poor defense. Thank you Furcal for that half ass effort you go home and we move on.
Well now its time for the party to start but there is still just one more title in which we seek. The Phillies are the National League East Champions, and now the National League Champion. Many of us can only pray that the resume year for the Phillies has one more thing to add. Good Night and GO PHILLIES!

Tonight Could Be the Night!
Tonight could be the night in which a city becomes the best in the league. From streets of darkness to streets filled with Phillies Pride, tonight could be the night in which the Phillies could earn a shot at the greatest Fall Classic in all sports. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve cheered for them or how long you fallowed them this season tonight we are all united in Philly Pride. Who will be the hero of the night, will it be done with their bat or with their glove? Can the Phillies return to the World Series and a shot at immortality? Where legends are made and no one goes forgotten. The Goosebumps that we are all feeling and the tingle we get every time we see the clock get closer to the game start is a feeling that won’t go away. There is not doubt in my mind with Cole Hamels pitching and the eyes of the baseball world watching that its time for the Phillies to clame their second title of the year as the best in the National Leagues. But still have their eyes of the greatest title of all baseball, World Series Champion. SO tonight watch as we see our team take the field, cheer for them as you would if you were there live, trust me they can hear you. As you watch you shall see why the Phillies could be the best in the entire sport. GO PHILLIES, WE BELIEVE!
One Point but Zero Wins
Last night the Flyers had a chance to win thier first game of the 2008-2009 season and just like last year playoff LOST. It is really a sad start but lucky for them the Phillies are getting all the attention. I couldn't really see goofs or pors last night due to the fact that it was a great game. It was just a bad result, and I am looking to see if there is any early changes for the Flyers before this season starts a nose dive into the groud. Last time the Flyers had this start was back in 1999 where the Flyers would eventually go on a great winning streak at home in Decemeber and still made the playoffs but lost in the first round. So untill tomorrow nights game good luck and if the Phillies do win tonight don't party to hard ahhh go for Philadelphia.

Still Looking for Number 1
Thank God the Phillies won because I don’t think the city of Philadelphia could take two losses in one night. First the Flyers started very strong and many of us said confidently that this is the team to beat. Not wrong yet. Then came the second period and still confident we said yea still good. WRONG! The third period was a disaster for the Flyers and again another let down for the city of Philadelphia. Just didn’t go their way, and I am thankful that I watched the Phillies instead of the Flyers.
Pros
Mike Richards
Jeff Carter
Carey Price
Andrei Kostitsy
Goofs
Martin Biron
Joffrey Lupul
Craig Berube
Pros: Once against Mike Richards dominated the ice and finally got the power play on the board. Jeff Carter finally got his game on and scored his first goal of the season. Carter also has improved physically and seems to be a wrecking crew in itself. Montreal goaltender Carey Price saved this team and is a sick goaltender. I knew Price was good last year but he has gotten to the point of being great. Andrei Kostitsy also had a great game and scored the first goal for the Canadians. Expect to hear a lot about these guys in the future.
Goofs: This goes to all Flyers guys only. Martin Biron didn’t prove anything to me tonight and still is kind of shaky when it comes to goaltending. Joffrery Lupul has shown of his physical presences but nothing in the goal category yet. I personally would like to see Lupul scoring some goals instead of dropping the gloves. The biggest goof so far this very short season is assistant coach Craig Berube. Berube is in charge of special teams which included power play and penalty kill. This is an area where the Flyers are not doing so well rite now. During the playoff last year for the Phantoms I attend a game. It was probably the worst hockey game I had ever seen. Phantoms got destroyed and I keep saying to myself thank God he isn’t with the Flyers organization. Now he is and the head coach of that team was, Craig Berube.
Tomorrow night the Phillies are off and the Flyers take on Pittsburg. The same team that eliminated them last year from the Stanley Cup playoffs. We the Flyers get their first win against state rivals or are we looking at another rebuilding year.

One Win Away
One game away from the Philadelphia Phillies going to the World Series and being the best team in the National League. It was a game of change leads and momentum shifts but destiny can not be stopped. LA stood with mouths dropped after the big bomb that Matt Stairs hit, and how fast the Phillies pulled off a double play in the eight innings. But there is still one more game left and one more fight for complete control. I also have to be honest that this game had a lot of changing pros to goofs and goofs to pros.
Pros
Matt Stairs
Andre Ethier
Casey Blake
Chase Utley
Goofs
Jonathon Broxton
Russell Martin
So Taguchi
Ryan Howard
Pros: Matt Stairs gets the nod for first pro of the game, and deservingly so. Matt Stairs all of forty years old comes off the bench and hits a two run home run to put the Phillies up in the game. This man has contributed a lot to this team and I would def like to see him as a possible pinch hitter next year. Andre Ethier didn’t do much with his bat but his defense keeps the Dodgers in the game. After great plays and gold glove moments Ethier came to the ballpark to play. Casey Blake seems to me the most consistent hitter of the Dodgers and good on defense. When he hit a solo homerun in the game I was happy to see it done by a humble guy. And of course with his bat and defense tonight, Chase Utley earns a nod at the pros spot.
Goofs: It was weird putting Jonathon Broxton on this list of goofs especially since I had put him down as a pro last game. But because of him the Phillies rallied around and passed the Dodgers in game 4. Once against, a repeat offender of the goofs, Russell Martin gets the nod. Martin continues to bat the worst in the entire postseason and entire postseason MLB. Martin is a luck terd for the drop last strike a few times, and really has nothing else to show for himself. So Taguchi had a shot at the pros and a shot to be the savior of the Phillies instead he is a goof and should be sent away in the offseason. And sadly Ryan Howard in left to make a goof for tonight’s game because of hit lack of offense and bad defense.
Tonight we saw the Phillies give all they had and fought for this win. As a Phillies fan the light is at the end of the tunnel and I am ready for some good old red fun. Game 5 has scheduled for Wednesday and the Phillies have a shot to put down LA & head to the World Series.

Looking for win #1
Tonight the Flyers will be looking for win number one but they have to trump over another hot team called Montreal. Many people are going to watch the Flyers first then turn to the Phillies at 8:30. I can't blame you and I will give you my best pros and goofs I can. To be honest I will be watching the Phillies but where I leave off with the Flyers I will watch the rest on demand. Expect some big moves and risk taken by the Flyers as they hope to repeat what they did to this team last year in the postseason. Flyers Vs. Canada Tonight!

Complete Shutdown!
Complete dingus is probably what the Phillies fans would best explain the game that just went down. After the shortest outing in a Phillies uniform Jamie Moyer seems to forget a few key things before entering the post season. Maybe it was fate or just their time for the Dodgers to win a game in this series. After that small brawl and complete rock bottom the Phillies seemed to lose a little heart tonight. As Phillies fan or rather a Philadelphia fan I hope that this is not a sign of compelte disaster which we have all seen before. Tomorrow we be the judge of what will happen next.
Pros
Rafael Furcal
J.A. Happ
Jonathon Broxton
Dodgers Bullpen
Goofs
Jamie Moyer
Pedro Feliz
Phillies Offense
Russel Martin
Pros: Furcal simply had a break out kind of night. Started off the game with a bang and when it look like the Phillies where going to climb back into it Furcal hits a homerun. I hope Jimmy Rollins was keeping notes on how a leadoff hitter is supposed to leadoff. J.A. Happ came into the game with his back against the wall and pitched a great game. Happ I feel has earned his spot as a started for next year and maybe a start in the World Series that’s if the Phillies make it. The Dodgers closer is aboslutly lights out, that being Jonathon Broxton. He has a triple didgit fastball and a sick slider. Let’s hope that we don’t see him again. The Dodger Bullpen was also lights out again and simply took control of this game, and didn’t allow the Phillies to even breath in the 7th. We have to hit starting pitching fast and early to win these games.
Goofs: Sadly Jamie Moyer is a goof for this game. Jamie was probably the most consistent pitcher the Phillies had during the year, but we haven’t seen that Jamie at all this postseason. I don’t know why Pedro Feliz is playing, especially since we need offense more then defense which Pedro doesn’t have. I hope to see Dobbs in tomorrows game. The Phillies offense was just a shame tonight especially Werth and Rollins. We need these guys to get out of their coma and become the offensive beasts they can be. And of course the biggest goof of the night was that idiot of a catcher Russel Martin who has no respect and probably the dumbest player on the field. I personaly don’t like that man and feel he is a no talent hack.
Tomorrow I hope they Phillies jump down the throat of the Dodgers by taking the crowd out of the game and dominate the show. It will be Blanton for the Phillies against Lowe of the Dodgers. Game 4 is an important momentum changer.

A Test of Time
Tonight Jamie Moyer will take the mound for the Phillies, who are leading the series 2-0 with hopes to make it 3-0 tonight; he is the oldest player to ever pitch a playoff game. With the personal lost to Charlie Manuel and Shane Victorino the Phillies hope to rally around these recent sad events and gain a lot of ground in the National League Series. Tonight I hope that Jamie Moyers gets the kind of start that many of us hope he had against the Brewers. Jamie Moyer wants to win, and I believe he needs to win. The ball is in his hand and for what he has been doing since I was born was just simply dominates the opponents. For the Phillies they need to at least win one game for them to return home for game 6. For the Dodgers they need to throw everything they got including the kitchen sink to stay above the water. Good Luck to the Phillies and let’s hope that they can bring home a victory.
From Cold to Hot
Not the start that many of us wanted to see. New York Rangers, a very hot team, came into the game last night undefeated and with a new type of attitude. This intense game let everyone know that the Flyers are going to give each team hell for three complete periods, and show little to no mercy to any team. With the Rangers playing four games before they seem to have been clicking a lot better then the Flyers start. But after quick moves in goaltending and lines getting shake up responded to the early deficits with a mighty run. Sadly the Flyers feel short of their goal and lost game 1.
Pros
Antero Nittymaki
Mike Richards
Stephen Valiquette
Blair Betts
Goofs
Mike Knuble
Martin Biron
NY Defense
Flyers Special Teams
Pros: Nittymaki was the sole reason why the Flyers stayed into the game. Nittymaki was lights out after coming into the game late in the first and trying to cover up Martin Birons big mistakes. I believe that we now know who is the starting goaltender. Mike Richards also gets the pro title after the game because of his leadership he had shown during the penalty kill, offensive attack, and both psychically and emotion fighting this team forward. With a goal and a fight let everyone know why he is the captain of the Flyers. Valiquette played an awesome game, and is the reason why the Flyers were unable to mount the upset come back last night. The starting goaltender of the NYR should be proud of his performance and really picked up his team for the long stretch. Also NYR Blair Betts also showed off his offensive skill with scoring a goal and earning an assist.
Goofs: Martin Biron is my first goof for the year because of the lack of energy and three soft goals that he let in during the game. Never before have I seen such a delayed reaction in covering post to post. It was like NHL 95 when you skated around the net the goaltender would follow you and then you had an open net. Mike Knuble to me is a waste of talent and should have been let go in the off season but here he is. Unable to check, and get the offense going affectively which weighs down the team, I am sure there is someone on the Phantoms who would play better. The self destruction NYR defense has a lot of work to do, and should reconsider their non aggressive strategy. And last but not least is the Flyers special teams which was lack their of last night. With a two man advantage and the fire power that the Flyers posses there should be no reason what’s so ever not to score. When you go 0-4 on the power play and nothing to show for your causes then a defeat in usually what you go through.
Overall I am still confident that the Flyers will play and have a good season this year. Game 1 surely is one to be on not repeated but not forgotten. Until next time, good time and good hockey.

Flyers Ready!
Tomorrow night the Philadelphia Flyers open up their season against their rivals New York Rangers. With the world’s greatest hockey mom, Governor Sarah Palin, dropping the first puck the Flyers will try to capitalize against a very hot team so far. Flyers during the off season had to work on a few mechanics and kinks they developed in the late stages in last years postseason. One big change for the Flyers is that Mike Richards is now leading this team as captain, and the coaching staff has gotten rid of Terry Murry which to me signifies that special teams will improve. For many of us we would like to see the Flyers improve in many areas but more importantly in overtime, shootouts, and other special team areas. But like I said above the Rangers are hot right now winning two of their first games, and leading in the one now. Rangers also have changed their look and are trying to help return the city of New York to the postseason. Only time will tell if the dominating Flyers will return with vengeance and the city that has been panted red, could be painted orange once again.
Like for baseball I will have my pros and goofs of every game, so something to look forward too.
Game 2: Personal Achievement With A Significant Loss
With a personal lost to the skipper of the Phillies, the team responded with a big win for their manager Charlie Manuel. For many fans this was a game where a win would set us off, but for the Phillies this was a win for their manager. Charlie Manuel found out early this morning that his mother had passed away, and also decided to remain with the team for game 2. The offense and defense of the Phillies responded entirely together to put down the dodgers and take a healthy lead in the series. This was a game where offense dominated the first 5inings and pitching showdown for the rest of the game. Both starts had rocky starts but it was the Phillies that overcame the odds and with their pitcher Bret Myers hitting himself into the record books. Never before have I ever seen a pitched dominated hitting like Bret Myers, especially since he wasn’t throwing well at all during the game.
Pros
Bret Myers Bat
Dodgers Bullpen
Brad Lidge
James Loney
Goofs
Bret Myers Pitching
Jimmy Rollins
Starting Pitching for the Dodgers
Manny Ramirez
Pros: Bret Myers bat has spoken for itself, and has become legendary in this postseason. Myers went 3 for 3, with 3RBI’s and 2 runs. Big hit for Myers lead him overcome his problems on the pitching mound great hitting for the pitching staff this year. Dodger’s bullpen has been lights up for the dodgers in the past two games. No matter what the situation is they simply take control of the momentum of the game and keep the Dodgers into the game. Brad Lidge is absolutely a dominating closer for the Phillies organization. During the season 79-0 when leading after 8 innings, and in the postseason with a perfect save record intact. Lidge has lifted the hopes high for all the Phillies, and has kept the dodgers out of any momentum shift.
Goofs: Bret Myers pitching was very alarming for me, and I feel if the Phillies are going to make an impact in the division series or even the World Series Myers has to pitch a lot better. A few mistakes here and there but still has to control the ball a lot better. Ryan Howard seems like he hasn’t showed up to the series yet. I hope that he comes around and starts putting fear into the minds of all pitched left in the postseason. Manny Ramirez simply is a goof because of his hot dog run the bases moment after hitting that homerun. It seems that Ramirez is only good at hitting the long ball and if he doesn’t hit it provides nothing for the offensive lineup for the dodgers.
Now we shall see Jamie Moyer for the Phillies and Hiroki Kuroda for the Dodgers. See how Jamie Moyer tries to give his team the reprieve and put the Dodgers in the hole. Or see Kuroda be the dominate pitcher he is and control the momentum in a must win for the Dodgers. Let’s Go Phillies & Beat LA!

Game 1 Goes to the Long Ball
Tonight’s game was not just important it was the table setter for the rest of the series. The Phillies now just three wins away from a shot at the biggest championship in baseball, and a date with greatness. The loud crowd played a factor as the Phillies Ace gunned down the dodgers to pick up his second carrer postseason win. Dodgers finaly tasted their first lost in the 2008 postseason and lets hope they feel three more.
And as promised the pros and goofs of the baseball game tonight.
Pros
Pat Burrell
Chase Utley
Derek Lowe
Cole Hamels
Goofs
Rafael Furcal
Jayson Werth
Pedro Feliz
Dodgers Offense
Pros: Pat Burrells homerun in the past two games has sent the Phillies forward with big wins in both big series. Pat has also showed great control and has decreased his strikeouts by half. Chase Utley gets a “Pros” nod for his big two run homerun in the 6th inning which would then tied the game, also Utley go the first hit off of Lowe which helped come down a lot of tension. Derek Lowe pitched a good game, wasn’t the winner but also wasn’t the goof. I believe that only two runs would have been given up by Lowe if he didn’t have and error slapped onto his defense. And last but not least 2-0 Hamels postseason drive. Hamels pitched out of a lot of jams and keep the Phillies into the game. Now you see why Cole Hamels is the ace of this staff.
Goofs: Rafael Furcal bone head play is the reason why the Phillies were able to tie the game, and thus moving into a win as an end result. Jayson Werth had three horrible at bats and should really think about what going on, especially swinging into a double play. Feliz almost had a bone head play and cost the Phillies the lead by a lack of energy playing third in the 8th. Feliz also didn’t show much at bat. The Dodgers Offense which only 5 of their top players hit and the rest of the lineup nothing. All together a total of 10 strikeouts and a lot of zeros on the score board.
Tomorrow we shall see Bret Myers on the mound for the Phillies and Chad Billingsley for the Dodgers. Afternoon game everyone and a chance for the Phillies to control the series 2-0. Enjoy

Phillies Getting Ready
Well I decided, after being asked to really, to start a blog on sports especially dealing with both of my favorite teams. Now first question might be, “What about the eagles?” I do not care to mention my thoughts about that great team (cough sucks) but now onto an important topic. This Phillies are due to face against the Dodgers on Thursday. Cole Hamels will take the mound for the Phillies and Lowe of the Dodgers. Both are great pitchers and got the job done for their respected teams. I of course favor the Phillies chances in winning this game and I will tell you why. 1) The Phillies are playing at home, and the home crowd does play a factor. Remember game 2 when the crowd basically eliminated CC from the game. Only in this city would we chant for a pitcher to work the count and break his bat. None the less the Phillies seem to have this mean streak while at home. 2) The Phillies are like the sleeping giant when it comes to power and defense, if you wake it they then can’t be beat. The Dodgers however do have a lot of power in their lineup that can match the intensity of the Phillies. Depends on who shows up to the game either an offensive attack or pitching defense all leads up to be great baseball. 3) My last point is that the Dodger went untested in their series against the Cubs and now have to face a very tested team. I will always choose tested over just lucky any day. Besides their luck will soon run out and better now then later. Overall good luck to both teams, lets go Phillies. Also just a heads up after each game I will comment on the goofs and pros of the game with comic relief and true fan thoughts, might get nasty.
