Shark Bait

Once again the Flyers lose, but on a good note the Flyers did get one point out of it. So depending on the rest of the NHL games tonight, this will tell us if the Flyers are still in last. Again the Flyers seem not to know how to play in the shoot out, and seem to have a lack of energy in the game. The Flyers lead only once in this game, which ended up being a scoring fest and poor goaltending. A lot of fingers are getting pointed in multiple directions and it would be very hard to determine whose fought this is. Maybe it is turning out to be a fact. The Flyers may not be that good, and are a team that just got luck last year. It has happen before, luck dominating sports, and then the rock bottom. For the Flyers looking for win number 1 could last the entire mouth of October. Maybe it was the training at west point, or the hockey gods angry with the tearing down of the spectrum, or was it Sarah Palin dropping the first puck. WHO KNOWS.

Pros
Joffrey Lupul
Jeff Carter
Patrick Marleau
Joe Pavelski

Goofs
Flyers Goaltending
Special Teams (Record amount of Goofs)
Evgeni Nabokov

Pros: Joffrey Lupul showed great patience and gave the Flyers some hope in the game. Lupul has been looking for his first goal of the season, now he had two tonight. Hopefully this gets him going, and it does remove him from our goofs list from last week. Jeff Carter seems to be the most well rounded player that we have. Two shorthanded goals this year, and physical play has all improved. Looks like Jeff Carter put in some effort this offseason to get better. Patrick Marleau seems just to in the rite place and the rite time. Scoring two goals tonight, he continues to be the Flyers killer for the Sharks. Joe Pavelski scoring the winning goal in the overtime, and basically dominating the Flyers in the offensive zone earns a pros title for the night.

Goofs: Flyers goaltending seems to have a very large question mark over it, and for many fans are confused in who is actually the starting goaltender for this club. Nittymaki I believe has earned it and should have stayed into the game. Stevens seems to be goaltending by committee rather then picking a steady starter. Special teams remains a big disaster for the Flyers, and for them to turn this season around have to improve in that area. The goaltender of the Sharks Nabokov I believe is not that great, and is very beatable. But the Flyers failed to execute on the win, and once again have been defeated.

Flyers will next take on the New Jersey Devils, a team in which we need to be prepared for. Flyers seem to look for that first win, and look for it in all the wrong places.
